Possible Solutions? At some point in the future, it would be most beneficial to get Rohingyas citizenship so that they can have access to civil rights and public services. To eventually be registered as Burmese citizens, a three step process has been developed. First, it would be most beneficial to get the word out to the world. Put it out in the media what is happening in Myanmar, and give the Rohingyas a way to communicate their struggles; give them a voice that the world can hear. Second, educate the Burmese people about the Rohingyas. Re-Humanize the Rohingyas so that the Burmese would see them as suffering human beings. The third step would then be to register the Rohingyas, with the help of a program that is already in commission. The idea is, that to register the Rohingyas as citizens, there must first be a support of the burmese people. To obtain the support of the Burmese people, the Burmese people must be educated and know the real truth about the Rohingya. To educate the Burmese people, the world must first know about the crimes committed in Myanmar. This is the “Three Step Process” to getting the Rohingya the citizenship they deserve.

The Three Step Process
Step One: Publicity
By letting the world population know what is happening in Myanmar, it would be hard for the Burmese government to continue this oppression without interference from world super powers. If Myanmar is brought into the spotlight, many people will begin to understand what is happening in Myanmar.
Step Two: Re-Humanize the Rohingya
Since the Burmese government has spent so much effort de-humanizing the Rohingyas,(With the thousands of propaganda posters and hate speeches(see the propaganda section for more information)) the only solution would be to re-humanize the Rohingyas. Re-humanizing these people would allow the burmese people to eventually have the desire to help and support the Rohingyas. Giving the image that the Rohingyas are just like any other human being, would put faces on the those that are suffering. Only then will the Burmese people find it hard to ignore the endless torture the Rohingyas live through every day. By creating a diverse environment, and exposing the Burmese people to the Rohingya, the Burmese people will finally be able to understand how much the Rohingyas are suffering.
Step Three: Register the Rohingya
Registering Rohingyas as citizens would allow them to attain civil rights, and would give Myanmar jurisdiction over these people so that Myanmar would then be responsible for the Rohingyas. As of July 2016, a campaign has been started to register the Rohingya, but with no support from the public or trust from the Rohingya, that project never left the ground. “Shelter gaps remained significant and the UNHCR did not have the resources to solve this. In Rakhine State, activities were halted for around one month and slowly resumed after an attack by the local community on UN and NGO premises in March 2014. In 2014, UNHCR expanded CCCM structures. Presently 26 camps in Rakhine and 132 camps in Kachin have functioning camp management structures.” (UNHCR)
“In the southeastern border of Myanmar, where UNHCR is working, there are 230,000 protracted IDPs. There are also 128,000 Myanmar refugees hosted in nine temporary shelters in Thailand. In the Rakhine State, the situation was largely static for the 140,000 IDPs whose freedom of movement and access to various rights were restricted. 800,000 people remained with undetermined citizenship.” (UNHCR)
